Julie White, RN, BSN, OCN is the Director of Patient Services at the Mesothelioma Applied Research Foundation, bringing nearly two decades of oncology nursing experience to patient advocacy and support. She holds a Bachelor of Science in Nursing, is an Oncology Certified Nurse (OCN), and is a registered nurse licensed in North Carolina. She began her career at a cancer center in New York State as an inpatient nurse, providing patient education with a focus on post-surgical and wound care. She later worked as a chemotherapy infusion nurse, administering chemotherapy, immunotherapy, and investigational agents while guiding patients through side-effect education and symptom management. Julie then spent twelve years focused on oncology clinical research, serving as a research nurse at two major cancer centers in North Carolina and supporting the development of new cancer therapies. Most recently, she performed clinical audits for the National Cancer Institute’s early-phase trials, helping ensure adherence to trial procedures and the safe execution of studies. As Director of Patient Services, she is often a first point of contact for patients, caregivers, and the bereaved community, connecting families with mesothelioma specialists and programs, helping identify clinical trial options, and facilitating access to support resources.
