Radiation oncology is used as an adjuvant therapy to other modalities of treatment (and in some cases, it can even be used as a neoadjuvant therapy right before surgery). Sometimes radiotherapy is also used as a palliative solution to help with disease symptoms and discomfort. Due to the diffuse nature of mesothelioma, radiation oncology can, however, be challenging.
