Dear friends,
In my capacity as Chair of the Mesothelioma Applied Research Foundation’s Board of Directors, I wanted to share with you some recent updates from the Foundation.
At the end of the month, we will say goodbye to Julie Powers who has served as the Foundation’s executive director since 2021. We want to thank Julie for her hard work and dedication to our community. We know that she will continue to be successful in future endeavors and truly appreciate her service. In the interim, we will continue operations as normal while we search for a new leader of our organization.
Another important update I wish to share with you is that the Foundation has moved two blocks from our previous location. While we currently have two addresses which include the office and a PO Box, we ask that you use the PO box for donations. Our goal with the PO box is to mitigate mail delays that we have recently encountered.
Business address:
1717 K Street NW, Suite 900
Washington, DC 20006
Donation mailing address:
PO Box 24041-4041
New York, NY 10087
Furthermore, our preparations for Mesothelioma Awareness Day on September 26th, and our Symposium on October 19-21 are well underway. We can’t wait to see you in person in Washington, DC this fall. We are especially hopeful that you will be able to join us on Capitol Hill for Advocacy Day. It’s been a while since we’ve had a full, 3-day conference that includes Advocacy Day, so it is our priority to get reacquainted with our elected officials and to educate them about ways in which can help our mission and our cause!
The board has some big plans already in the works for the future meant to expedite research advances, and we look forward to unveiling them very soon.
Thank you for your continued support of this organization. We appreciate and share in your dedication to eradicate mesothelioma as a life-ending cancer.
Once again, thank you to Julie for all she has given to the organization and our community.
With gratitude,
Marjorie G. Zauderer, Chair, Board of Directors
Mesothelioma Applied Research Foundation
