Fundraise for Meso – The Resilient (Kensington, MD)

To honor her 11-year “cancerversary,” Ivana Mihajlovic, a 41-year-old peritoneal mesothelioma warrior, is hosting a Fundraise for Meso event on Saturday, Nov. 21 in Kensington, MD.

Here’s how to support this fundraiser:

  • Make an $11 donation to Ivana’s fundraising page and RSVP to join for the in-person, outdoor workout session at North Bethesda Fit Body Boot Camp on Saturday, Nov. 21 from 10:00-11:00 AM ET
    • Because of Covid-19 restrictions, there is a maximum of 25 people
    • If you’re unable to join in person, a livestream will be available
  • Bid on items in the online auction before 9:00 PM ET on Friday, Nov. 20
    • Items can be shipped anywhere in the United States

In the 11 weeks leading up to Nov. 21, Ivana has been and will continue posting simple exercises and encouraging supporters to do (at least) 11 repetitions or 11 of an appropriate unit (1.1 miles, 11 laps, 11 minutes, etc.).

In January 2010, I had an experimental HIPEC surgery with Dr. Richard Alexander at University of Maryland in Baltimore. In July 2018, a second HIPEC with Dr. Armando Sardi in Mercy, Baltimore. Unfortunately, I still see that word experimental, there is still no cure for mesothelioma, and a lot of people lose their battle. My last scan didn’t show any growth or suspicious activity, so I am in the clear, but I never know for how long — I hope for very long time.
