Financial assistance available for upcoming 2020 Symposium

The Mesothelioma Applied Research Foundation knows that the information and the community support provided at our International Symposium on Malignant Mesothelioma — April 6-7 in San Antonio, TX — is extraordinarily valuable to patients and their families as they navigate mesothelioma.

We also know that the costs associated with traveling to San Antonio and attending the Symposium can seem daunting to some. Thanks to committed fundraisers like Erica Iacono, whose annual Fundraise for Meso event Walk to Cure Meso raised over $26,000 in 2019, the Foundation is able to provide financial assistance to patients and community members who request financial support by filling out a brief application.

Eligible expenses include:

  • Hotel room accommodations made through the Meso Foundation directly with the host entity
  • Registration fee waiver
  • Travel reimbursement for expenses associated with attending the Symposium

“For me and others who have lost someone, hosting a fundraiser shows that you can turn a tragedy into something that helps others.”

Erica Iacono, community member and former BOD member

Request more information and the application by contacting Jordan Fingerhut at (703) 879-3824 or [email protected].

The International Symposium on Malignant Mesothelioma, hosted by the Mesothelioma Applied Research Foundation, is a unique, annual conference that brings together the entire mesothelioma community to learn about the latest in treatment options, speak face-to-face with top mesothelioma experts, and find community and support with others walking in their shoes.
