Celebrated each November, National Family Caregivers (NFC) Month recognizes and honors the 90 million Americans across the country who selflessly care for family members who are chronically ill, elderly, or who have a disability.
As the month comes to a close, the Meso Foundation wants to acknowledge the dedication and love of family caregivers who are rising to the demands of their role every day and express our gratitude for their compassionate care. The Foundation recognizes the challenges of family caregiving and supports family caregivers with our telephonic and online support groups. NFC Month raises awareness of family caregiver issues, celebrates the efforts of family caregivers, and increases support for family caregivers. Each year, a theme is chosen by the Caregiver Action Network, which began promoting national recognition of family caregivers in 1994. This year’s theme — “Supercharge Your Caregiving” — focuses on providing new caregiving tools that can help lighten the load.
We encourage everyone to take the time to thank the caregivers in their life.
