The purpose of this private event is to bring together the bereaved community to connect with one another and honor those who have passed on. The event will be held on Saturday, September 17. Attendees will meet at 11am at Fior d’Italia at 2237 Mason St, San Francisco, CA 94133. The day will include a butterfly release and tribute, lunch, and programming. Mesothelioma Awareness Day

Mesothelioma Awareness Day, established by Meso Foundation volunteers in 2004 and held annually on September 26, has been the driving force behind the movement to bring more attention and funding to this cancer. In the last twelve years, through various activities, the Meso Foundation and its volunteers have been able to obtain “National Mesothelioma Awareness Day” proclamations by both the U.S. Senate and the House of Representatives, have raised nearly a million dollars, have received local government proclamations in their states and localities, and have received dozens of instances of media coverage for their stories, events, and activities. More information about Meso Awareness Day will become available in July.

MARCH 2017

2017 International Symposium on Malignant Mesothelioma

The Meso Foundation will be back in the Washington, DC metro area for the 2017 International Symposium on Malignant Mesothelioma. The Symposium will be held in collaboration with the National Cancer Institute on March 27-29th at the National Institutes of Health in Bethesda, Maryland.

The International Symposium on Malignant Mesothelioma is a one-of-a-kind conference bringing together the world’s most prominent mesothelioma experts with patients and caregivers. No other event offers this kind of interaction between the medical community and the public.

For patients and their families, the Symposium provides specially-tailored sessions covering updates in the science of mesothelioma, surgery, chemotherapy, immunotherapy, radiation oncology, clinical trials, and an overview of new advances. Attendees are provided with private, professionally-moderated support sessions and given ample opportunities for socialization.

This three-day event includes two days of presentations on the prestigious campus of the National Institutes of Health, and one day of advocacy on Capitol Hill. More information will soon become available at curemeso.org/symposium.
